Lunch & Learn - The Art of Storytelling - Anchorage
BP Energy Center
What is your story? Donors want to know. Learn the keys to storytelling from the pros. Join AFP Alaska Chapter and Story Works Alaska Co-Founder Regan Brooks and Board Member Britta Hamre for an interactive lunch to learn the steps to effective storytelling and how this deceptively simple skill can be so challenging. Master your story and help others tell theirs.
Regan Brooks is a former public school science teacher who loves Newton’s laws, stories, birds, her family, and living in Anchorage. Regan earned her BA in Government from Cornell University, her MS in Botany from the University of Vermont and her Certificate in Nonprofit Management from The Foraker Group. She is a big fan of pancakes, Maple trees, and the public radio series Vik created, New Arrivals.
Britta Hamre is a story coach and Secretary for the Board of Directors for Story Works Alaska. She graduated with a BA of Sociology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2016 and has worked as a baker, refugee case manager, and food advocate. Britta enjoys running, skiing, meeting new dogs, good food, good books, and good company. She has been a Story Works Alaska volunteer for over a year and believes community happens when we take the time to listen.
