POSITION TITLE: Development Director
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Develop, implement and strategically manage guided multi-year plans to increase giving resources. Growing and managing an effective workplace campaign program including new business development and community relations. Ensure that the principles and practices of customer relationship management are in place. Assume responsibilities for year-round cultivation and development of giving potential at corporate, employee and individual levels, cultivating community support for the campaign and events by maintaining, developing and managing appropriate volunteer structures.
The Resource Development Director is accountable for creating, developing and executing a multi-year, year-round strategic resource development plan to increase critical financial and volunteer resources for the United Way of the Tanana Valley. Key responsibility areas include: corporate and workplace campaigns; individual and loyal contributors; and special resource development events.
The Resource Development Director is responsible for activities such as the following; other duties may be assigned:
Developing a resource development plan that supports the UWTV strategic objectives.
Analyzing data in order to systematically develop key strategies to increase corporate, employee and individual giving.
Determining key metrics, accountability and reporting mechanisms aligned with performance and growth objectives; producing regular detailed reports in conjunction with Finance Officer.
Increase positive media attention for the organization.
Ensuring effective volunteer stewardship in support of resource development goals to include campaign, volunteer recruitment, training and recognition, presentations, media, and events.
Maintaining knowledge of current and evolving resource development trends that may impact UWTV results, to aid in overall organizational efforts.
Strategizing with Executive Director and key volunteers to identify and obtain individual, corporate and foundation contributions.
Devising and executing annual fundraising plans, special events and giving programs.
Producing collateral materials for campaign and general marketing.
Cultivating and sustaining positive, productive relationships with varied constituents
Representing the United Way of the Tanana Valley in community, regional, state and national networks
Troubleshoots information technology issues as they arise within the office.
Creates/updates/manages Unitedwaytv.com as well as social media sites.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, mange time effectively, show initiative and follow-through. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and organize presentations. Demonstrated ability to work on several software packages (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher). Great customer service orientation toward both internal and external key relationships essential. Easily engages people, quickly builds rapport, and rapidly creates relationships. Self-motivating and resilient. Execute personal leadership within a team environment.
