AFP AK, Alaska Chapter: Advanced Development Professionals Network
Advanced Development Professionals Network
This new AFP Alaska Chapter program gathers development professionals with ten or more years of experience for an in-depth discussion of key topics. The first meeting will take place on Thursday, September 6th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m at Kay's Family Restaurant (formerly Cafe Croissant) at 3002 Spenard Blvd. This program is free for AFP members, with each person responsible for their own food/drink at the restaurant. Since this is the first meeting, we will also discuss logistics for future meetings.
At this meeting, we will discuss 'The Power of Who We Are: Organizational Culture in the Nonprofit Setting' by Terrence E. Deal and Casey Smith Baluss. This article emphasizes the strength of organizational culture in a nonprofit. By discussing examples, definitions and roles, the authors describe how to view an organization through a symbolic framework. They show how this framework is important for the organization's leadership, future and fundraising.
Please register here so we can reserve a spot for you.
If you have a question about the network, please contact Nora Ortiz-Fredrick.
