November 7, 2017

AFP PM – Philanthropy Matters!

AFP, Alaska Chapter hosts quarterly in-depth quarterly conversations designed for development professionals with the CFRE credential or 3+ years of experience.

AFP PM—Philanthropy Matters conversations explore the latest research, trends, and ideas in philanthropy and development. These discussions are facilitated and you earn one CFRE Certification credit each time you participate.

When: Tuesday, November 7, 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Meeting room at Marco T’s Pizzeria, 302 W Fireweed Lane, Anchorage

WHAT: To discuss A Tradition of Giving—new research on giving and volunteering within families.

This research builds on Women Give to explore charitable giving and intra-family connections across three generations—examining the ways giving traditions are passed down through within families and discover the flow of influence of philanthropic behaviors and patterns of giving across generations. Read it here: www.issuelab.org/resources/25294/25294.pdf

LEARN: Ways family members influence each other’s giving behaviors as we examine

How closely do parents and grandparents match their children and grandchildren in terms of their philanthropic priorities? How do socio-demographic factors explain the similarity or dissimilarity in philanthropic priorities between parents and their children?
