The Tribal Grants Writer must be able to demonstrate ability in identifying economic development opportunities and development of business plans. Evidence of significant successful proposals and project completion will be required at time of interview. Good working knowledge is necessary of State and Federal grant and contract opportunities, regulations, and procedures pertaining to rural Native communities.
Must be able to manage time and work load to meet deadlines for submission of proposals and reporting requirements. Familiarity with Tribal governments and the needs and resources of small rural communities is preferred. Assignments will be performed with considerable independence, and require application of initiative and creativity. It is of utmost importance that the Tribal Grants Writer ensures that all communications for which responsible, both written and verbal, meet the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
